Sin City Eats

All of my friends tease me about how often we visit Las Vegas. NO- we are not gambling addicts-- but 4 times each year we visit the city for music events and a couple of days of complete indulgence. Guilt free is their motto, and you've just got to love that.

One of the things that always tops my list is finding the newest restaurants and booking the best table.  On our latest jaunt I was able to check out 3, and 2 actually made our 'must come back' list. We tried Nobu at Caesar's Palace, and there was nothing notable to report. If you've been to a Nobu outpost, you won't find anything new. The food is great, but there's nothing surprising about it. But, there are other new spots that totally roped me in....

Il Mulino Las Vegas patio at night...
The first was Il Mulino, which just might be the most delicious Italian in the US. I've always loved their NYC locale, but was even more impressed by the service, food and ambiance in Las Vegas. Complimentary starters were brought by the plate, with veggies sautéed in olive oil and handmade breads being part of the mix. The view from the balcony was gorgeous, and the food was even more enticing.

The dining room at Andrea's in the Encore, Las Vegas.
The most impressive stop was Andrea's at Encore. I am always enticed by anything in one of Steve Wynn's hotels, but this dining hotspot totally took my breath. The music, the food, the decor and executive chef Joe Elevado's talents combined to make this the dining experience of the year. We had a ball... watching top celebrities cozied up in booths and noshing on sashimi.

The best sushi roll I've ever had.. yellow tail and avocado wrapped in cucumber at Andrea's.
The cocktails were inventive and the main course choices out-of-this-world delicious (and light enough to keep you up and energized all night). If there's one reservation to make on your next trip, is is Andrea's. Seriously, I don't endorse places often and this is a not-to-miss stop.

I would love to know about where you like to eat, shop and rest on vacation? Do share.. and keep following for more of my favorites...

  1. I LOVE Il Mulino in Vegas! In addition to the amazing wine, food, and service, it also feels like a little respite from all of the "crazy" of sin city. I will also add Andrea's to my "must try" list on our next visit! thanks!
